I doubt she ponders much

or deeply, the reasons she doesn't relish being in or with herself.

People often ask her, Ms. Rice said that day, whether playing chamber music is relaxing. "It's not exactly relaxing if you are struggling to play Brahms," she explained. "But it is transporting. If I was responsible for as much evil as she is right now, I would treasure every moment I could get away from myself too.
