Editors are not doing their jobs.

At one time in this country, an article like this would have been rejected by every editor whose desk it crossed. Editors should have exacting standards about what they will or will not publish. Among these standards should be taste, logic, and whether or not the writer demonstrates knowledge of the political and historical context with respect to his topic. This individual flattened important distinctions that have existed for more than a century in his discussion.

If the verdict is in, then there's no need to think . . . or write for that matter. What a convenient world the neocons want.
